Community Engagement

We believe we’re called, not simply to “attend church,” but to genuinely “BE the church” in very hands-on, tangible ways. Of course that should (and hopefully does) happen best and most often in our daily lives, but we also think it should happen programmatically in our collective life as a church. That’s why we do Community Engagement!

Our Community Engagement ministry is all about engaging our community (go figure!) in need-meeting ways such as:

  • Serving Saturdays – doing various serving projects (I.E. painting houses, picking up trash, raking leaves, serving our schools, etc.)
  • Partnering with other need-meeting organizations (I.E. community food pantry, community clothes closet, Circles, Ronald McDonald House, Beadle House, My Father’s House, etc.)
  • Participating in community events (I.E. Spring Hill Fall Festival, Daffodil Days, etc.)
Upcoming Events:

Friday October 13th we'll be having a Tailgate party at the Spring Hill High School football game!  We will serve pulled pork and hot dogs from 5pm to 7pm along with other goodies.  We will have games to play and giveaways.  Fun for all, bring a friend and have some fun.  We'll be located up at the north end of the High School parking lot

In November we will again be putting together items for the Thanksgiving Meal baskets that we give away.  Stay tuned for more details on that.
Stock the Pantry Item of the month---October 2017

The October item (s) of the month will be Green Beans, Cream of Mushroom soup, and French Fried Onions...yes it's that time of the year.  We will be helping the Spring Hill Food pantry start stocking up for their Thanksgiving and Christmas Baskets.

As of January 2017 we are donating our collected items to the Spring Hill food pantry that is supported by Life Spring Church.  All donations stay right here locally.

Did you know:  That the Spring Hill Food Pantry serves about 550 people per month (70 families per week).  They hand out around 280 boxes of mac and cheese and jars of peanut butter per month.

Please place the items in the bin in the church lobby area.   Thanks for your continued generosity!

Fall Festival 2017
We had a great time at the Spring Hill Fall Festival.  As has become our tradition we got our hands dirty by serving the community picking up trash after the parade.  Thanks to everyone who helped walk the parade route and pick up trash.  Immediately after the parade we worked the booth we had set up giving away free sno cones (over 1,000 of them) and keeping track of kids playing on the huge bounce house that we provided.  We had a great day being out in the community.  Check out some of the pictures from Fall Festival:

Daffodil Days 2017

It was cold and it literally rained the entire day, but that didn't damper the crowd and their hunger for free hot dogs!  As a group we cooked and handed out over 450 hot dogs and gave out chips, cookies, water bottles and freshly popped pop corn to the crowd and working vendors.   We had a great volunteer group, see a couple of pictures from the event below:

Fall Festival 2016

We had a great time serving snow cones, handing out kids tattoos, and trying out the church's new bounce house.  We served somewhere between 800-900 snow cones!  We also had a bunch of our own kids from the church help work the booth during the afternoon and continued our tradition of walking the parade route picking up trash after the Fall Festival Parade.

BLOCK PARTY!!! (Saturday July 30th 2016)

We had a great time relaxing, playing games, eating dinner, and just enjoying meeting some new people during our Woodland Ridge Block Party!  We didn't get an exact count, but would guess there were easily over 100 people that came out.  There was a great mix of some folks from Grace Community and some from the neighborhood.  Below are a few pictures of the fun we had.
