I Quit Going to Church

Dear Church, One of the statements in our “Dream” says, “to be a church that looks beyond itself and beyond its immediate community to its larger responsibility of helping fulfill the Great Commission of Christ to the very ends of the earth.” One of the ways we do that is by giving generously to support the work of the church around the world (world mission). And most of the money we raise for World Mission we raise through what we call “Faith Promise.” Faith Promise is making a “promise” (a financial pledge) in “faith” (in response to God’s leadership and as he provides) for world mission, over and above our regular giving, during the coming year (March 2018-19). This year we set an ambitious goal of giving $70,000 for world mission through Faith Promise. And guess what? Our pledges have now exceeded $70,000!!!! I know pledges are not actual money, but last year we received 101% of what was pledged. So, I have every confidence that God will help us do what he has led us to do! Thank you, thank you, thank you … 70,000x thank you! Thank you for putting your money where your heart is. (Actually, according to Jesus, we always do. There’s no way around it) You know what we call giving for the sake of others? We call it “being the church.” So, thank you for “being the church” in this very tangible, monetary way. Inspired by your generosity,   Joel
