Community Engagement We believe we’re called, not simply to “attend church,” but to genuinely “BE the church” in very hands-on, tangible ways. Of course that should (and hopefully does) happen best and most often in our daily lives, but we also think it should happen programmatically in our collective life as a church. That’s why we do Community Engagement! Our Community Engagement ministry is all about engaging our community (go figure!) in need-meeting ways such as:

  • Serving Saturdays – doing various serving projects (I.E. painting houses, picking up trash, raking leaves, serving our schools, etc.)
  • Partnering with other need-meeting organizations (I.E. community food pantry, community clothes closet, Circles, Ronald McDonald House, Beadle House, My Father’s House, etc.)
  • Participating in community events (I.E. Spring Hill Fall Festival, Daffodil Days, etc.)

Mark your calendar:

Saturday September 25—Spring Hill Fall Festival
2 ways you can help!
1. As we’ve done the last few years we’ll be walking the parade route after the parade to serve our community by picking up the trash                 left behind from the parade.  We will meet on Webster across the street from Life Spring Church and divide and conquer the trash                       pickup.
2. Also, as we have done for several years we’ll have a booth at at the Festival all day on Saturday.  We need lots of people to volunteer              throughout the day to help make and hand out sno-cones, make the large yard bubbles, and whatever other ideas we can come up with.

Friday October 15th—Tailgate party at the Spring Hill High School football game!
More details to come, but we’ll be grilling some burgers and hot dogs for the High School football game.  Again, we’ll need lots of volunteers to pull this off so mark your calendar to come out and support our community with a free dinner.  It should be a fun night and a good way to meet some new people from our Spring Hill community.

October—Stay tuned, we may also try to work in a workday for a family at the church whose house needs a little tender loving care.  Still trying to work on the details on this one…

November--We’ll be collecting for our Thanksgiving meals again and having our Potato Mashing Party the Tuesday before Thanksgiving.

December–We’ll again be collecting gifts for some local families to bless them during the Holiday Season

Fall Festival 2017
We had a great time at the Spring Hill Fall Festival.  As has become our tradition we got our hands dirty by serving the community picking up trash after the parade.  Thanks to everyone who helped walk the parade route and pick up trash.  Immediately after the parade we worked the booth we had set up giving away free sno cones (over 1,000 of them) and keeping track of kids playing on the huge bounce house that we provided.  We had a great day being out in the community.  Check out some of the pictures from Fall Festival:

We had a great time hosting our recent block party!  The weather was perfect, we had a great turn out and hopefully we made some valuable connections in the community.  Here are some pictures of the event:

Daffodil Days 2017

It was cold and it literally rained the entire day, but that didn’t damper the crowd and their hunger for free hot dogs!  As a group we cooked and handed out over 450 hot dogs and gave out chips, cookies, water bottles and freshly popped pop corn to the crowd and working vendors.   We had a great volunteer group, see a couple of pictures from the event below:

Fall Festival 2016

We had a great time serving snow cones, handing out kids tattoos, and trying out the church’s new bounce house.  We served somewhere between 800-900 snow cones!  We also had a bunch of our own kids from the church help work the booth during the afternoon and continued our tradition of walking the parade route picking up trash after the Fall Festival Parade.

BLOCK PARTY!!! (Saturday July 30th 2016)

We had a great time relaxing, playing games, eating dinner, and just enjoying meeting some new people during our Woodland Ridge Block Party!  We didn’t get an exact count, but would guess there were easily over 100 people that came out.  There was a great mix of some folks from Grace Community and some from the neighborhood.  Below are a few pictures of the fun we had.
