Grace Community’s Initial Re-Entry Plan

The state has determined that churches may have as many people gather, even now, as we can house with adequate distancing (6 ft between households) while maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleaning practices. So, we’ve decided, since the Lord has blessed us with 22 acres, that beginning Sunday, June 7, through (for now) Sunday, July 5, we’re going to meet outside (weather permitting) with one service at 10:00 a.m. We will also continue to pre-record and premier our services on Sundays at 10:00 a.m. on Facebook and YouTube for those who choose not to gather. If the weather does not cooperate (rain or excessive wind), we will only meet virtually and not on campus at all. We will make the call last-minute, week to week, on Saturday night or Sunday morning via Facebook and email.

Some important details:

  • If you’re sick, please refrain from gathering.
  • If you are in any way “at risk”, no pressure to join us.
  • Bring your own lawn chair/blanket.
  • We’ll expect every family to honor the six feet social distancing practice and keep your kids with you. (Feel free to bring something for them to snack on and do with their hands during the service.) We’re not going to have enforcers walking around with a tape measure, but we will expect everyone to honor this practice.
  • The playground will be closed.
  • Masks are optional – no judgement either way. 😊
  • Handshaking and hugs will be discouraged — for now – not forever.
  • We won’t hand out any papers.
  • There will be a stationary offering receptacle – though most of us are giving online or automatically these days.
  • We’ll try to make the words to the songs available via smart phones.
  • The restrooms (inside) will be available but we strongly recommend them “for urgent use only.”

Two more things:

  1. Our plan is fluid and subject to change if necessary.
  2. What we need from everyone is to live Galatians 5:22-23 — “But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. There is no law against these things.”

Thanks! And please join us!
